We’re all set….

We’ve had a great couple of months here in Benijofar. We did a Spanish history course which was fascinating and gave us a great insight into how this wonderful country has progressed over the last 40 years and given us an understanding of their political parties and an interest in the recent elections. It’s also given us a great opportunity to chat with the neighbours about the local elections and practice our Español 😝🤦🏼‍♀️

We’ve been doing Spanish classes twice a week and learning loads. Mine is stored carefully in my brain and every time I open my mouth to speak everything pours out in French 🙄😤

We’ve been playing lots of golf and out on the bikes in the glorious sunshine. We’ve had great fun with all our friends and visitors. We met lovely new people during our Paddy’s Day Parade – which consisted of the Mutts on Tour – you’d be amazed at how many lovely people stopped to chat to us. I’ll have to get Sheila over to the town hall to start arranging next year’s parade 😝

On our way to Salamanca we stopped off in Madrid for a few days to visit with our good friend Curi and had a lovely time wandering around and catching up. We didn’t do many touristie things as we toured Madrid back in 2007.

So now we are heading for home for the summer and looking forward to catching up with you all. We had planned on touring Portugal on the way back but Brittany Ferries are having a lot of boat trouble so we are heading back through the mountains northeast of Madrid so we are well positioned to head up through France if our boat is cancelled. 😎
