At least I got my Christmas lights….

I was gutted that we’d missed the turning on of the Christmas lights in Benijófar but we left before they went on. In Spain the lights in all the towns don’t go on until the 6th December which is Constitution Day – a celebration of the day Spain became a democracy and is national holiday. The day is seen as the start of the December holidays and a long weekend is normally taken in conjunction with the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

So when we arrived in Santander on the evening of the 5th all the lights were on and the place was buzzing and had a great holiday feel to it. And it was nice and warm 😎

Sheila’s birthday present 🎁 😝

Hola Joan. We went from Avila to Santander to take the boat to Cork on Thursday but it was cancelled so we were rerouted to Caen to get the boat to Portsmouth and then on to Pembroke to get the boat to Rosslare, but the boats were cancelled so we drove up to Calais and got the train under the Channel and then drove through the night to Holyhead and now we are on the boat to Dublin!! Be home shortly!
