However my “Research-Navigator’s” fascination with the 12 century kings and queens of France and England lead to a further detour to Le Mans Cathedral to visit the tomb of Geoffrey The Fair who married Matilda (daughter of Henry I and parents of Henry II) in the amazing cathedral back in the XII century.
The city of Le Mans is famous for the 24 Hours of Le Mans motor race. However it has a fabulous old town, and of course the amazing Gothic-style Cathedral with its’ flying buttressess and it’s enormous stained-glass windows dating back to the original building. The old town was again full of beautiful old cobbled streets and old buildings – so full of character.

And not forgetting the Researcher-Navigator’s birthday… 🤣
